DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Jules Jurgensen, Copenhagen, two-train chronograph with 1/5-second jump, 18K gold original HC, signed gold cuvette, button on band at 12 for start/stop only chronograph function, white enamel SS dial with subsidiary register for 1/5-second jump, outer chapter in 1/5-second increments for sweep-seconds, KWKS, fully capped lever escapement, approximately 32J, gilt mvt, s#8157 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 81.6 dwt (126.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, when winding of jump train is attempted the barrel spins and the pinion of the second wheel spins without transferring power to the jump train, overhaul needed requiring at least restaking of the jump train second wheel pinion, with pressure added at second wheel of chronograph train good stop/start chronograph function was observed, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine scratches, some ultra-fine scratch striations; virtually flawless dial with only a minuscule hl in the sliver of space above the 1/5-second jump register; sweep-seconds-hand is missing its tip, excellent other hands apart from small bend to minute; case front opening a small bit wide of 90 degrees, one lift spring non-functional or at best only partially functional, case shows ample wear, profuse fine to micro-fine scratches, some areas of engine turning detail remaining lightly evident; tight bow thinned somewhat at top; good glass crystal.
